Kinder des Waldkindergartens Birkenwald
Über drei Jahre hinweg erkundeten die Kinder täglich den Wald: barfuß im Schlamm, mit Stiefeln im Schnee, den Stimmen von Wind und Wasser lauschend. Diese Erfahrungen prägen jedes Kind, fördern soziale Fähigkeiten, schärfen die Beobachtungsgabe und unterstützen ein Aufwachsen im Einklang mit der Natur.
Acht Kinder im Alter von acht Jahren, für die der Birkenwald während ihrer Kindergartenzeit ein zweites Zuhause war, begleiteten den Künstler Uriel Orlow über einen Zeitraum von mehr als einem Jahr hinweg mehrfach in ihren Wald – im Rahmen der BAU Residency 2023/2024.
Sie bezogen ihn in ihre Spiele und Konstruktionsktivitäten ein, ließen ihn Pflanzenteile kosten, deren Essbarkeit selbst ihm nicht bekannt war; vor allem aber machten sie durch die Bewegungen ihrer Körper im Lebensraum Wald die tiefe Verbindung sichtbar mit dem Ort und den Pflanzen und allen mehr-als-menschlichen Wesen, die ihn bewohnen.
Die acht beteiligten Kinder waren: Noam Mair Thaler, Anton Gruber Heiss, Josef Haller, Josephine Erlacher, Hanna Fischer-Schönweger, Fiona Bernhart und David Reichsigl. Children of the Birkenwald Forest Kindergarten
For over three years, the children explored the forest every day: barefoot in the mud, with boots in the snow, listening to the voices of wind and water. These experiences shape each child, fostering social skills, sharpening observation, and supporting their growth in harmony with nature.
Eight children, now eight years old, for whom the Birkenwald was a second home during their kindergarten years, accompanied artist Uriel Orlow into their forest on multiple occasions over the course of more than a year, as part of the BAU Residency 2023/2024.
They involved him in their games and building activities, invited him to taste parts of plants whose edibility was unknown even to him; but above all, through the movement of their bodies within the forest habitat, they made visible the deep bond that connects them to plants and to all the more-than-human beings who inhabit it.
The eight children who took part were: Noam Mair Thaler, Anton Gruber Heiss, Josef Haller, Josephine Erlacher, Hanna Fischer-Schönweger, Fiona Bernhart, and David Reichsigl. Bambine e bambini dell’asilo nel bosco Birkenwald
Per oltre tre anni, ogni giorno, i bambini hanno esplorato il bosco: a piedi nudi nel fango, con gli stivali nella neve, ascoltando le voci del vento e dell’acqua. Tutte queste esperienze formano il bambino e la bambina, sviluppano le sue capacità sociali, affinano il senso di osservazione e lə fanno crescere in armonia con la natura.
Otto bambinə di otto anni, per cui il Birkenwald è stato una seconda casa negli anni dell’asilo, hanno accompagnato l’artista Uriel Orlow nel loro bosco, più volte nell’arco di oltre un anno, durante la BAU Residency 2023/2024.
Lo hanno coinvolto nei loro giochi e nelle attività di costruzione, gli hanno fatto assaggiare parti di piante di cui lui stesso non conosceva la commestibilità; ma soprattutto, attraverso il movimento dei loro corpi nell’habitat del bosco, hanno reso visibile il profondo legame che li unisce alle piante e a tutti gli esseri più-che-umani che lo abitano.
