Wie könnten Südtirol und seine Landschaft im Jahr 2047 aussehen?
Für diese neue Produktion entwickelt INLAND eine Recherchemethode und lokale Intervention, die spekulative, fiktive Szenarien einführt, um eine Debatte über die Zukunft Südtirols und Projektionen auf seine Landschaft zu eröffnen. In einer ersten Projektphase, nach einer Erkundung der Gegend und verschiedenen individuellen Treffen, wurde ein Workshop mit unterschiedlichen Akteuren wie Käsern, Bergbauern, Hirten, Soziologen, Wissenschaftlern, Aktivisten und Tourismusexperten organisiert. Während dieser Zusammenkunft wurden unterschiedliche Raum- und Zeiterforschungsmethoden angewandt, die gegenwärtige und zukünftige Hoffnungen, Risiken und Beweggründe aus dem jeweiligen Tätigkeitsfeld der Teilnehmer in den Mittelpunkt stellten.

Das Ergebnis ist eine Installation im Stadtmuseum Bozen, die die Geschichte und das Erbe der Artefakte des Museums und seiner Archive aufnimmt und verdreht. Darüber hinaus werden ausgewählte Interviews mit lokalen Akteuren gemeinsam mit fiktiven Zukunftsszenarien im Film ALMA präsentiert. Einige Elemente davon werden in Töpferarbeiten sichtbar, die ein handgemachtes Storyboard darstellen. In einer Serie von performativen Mittagessen werden am 12., 19. und 26. September die Charaktere, Ämter und Gewänder aus dem Film vorgestellt. So wird den Teilnehmern die Möglichkeit gegeben, bei Essen und Poesie weiter über die Komplexität der Landschaftsfragen, die ALMA aufwirft, nachzudenken.

INLAND beim Festivals ‘hier und da’ in Mals am Sonntag 25.03.2018 von 10 bis 14 Uhr als Teil des Workshops “Opening the Countryside!” mit Alastair Fuad-Luke (Freie Universität Bozen): Nach dem ersten Teil zu Open Source Farming mit Fuad-Luke gibt es einen zweiten Teil des Workshop mit dem Künstler und Agroökologen Fernando García-Dory und eine Vorführung des Filmes ALMA von INLAND. Im Workshop Weggabelungen im Tal spricht Fernando García-Dory, Gründer von INLAND über vergangene künstlerische Arbeiten, wo es um die Beziehung zwischen Mensch und Territorium geht und Modelle für soziale und kulturelle Veränderung in Betracht gezogen werden. Fokus erhält das Projekt ALMA, welches 2017 während der Künstlerresidenz von INLAND in Südtirol entstanden ist. Der Film ALMA wird mit deutscher Untertitelung gezeigt und über Zukunftsszenarien des Landes diskutiert.

What could South Tyrol and its landscape look like in 2047?
For this new production, INLAND has developed a form of research and local intervention introducing speculative, fictitious scenarios to introduce landscape projections and open a debate about the future of South Tyrol . In a first stage, after exploring the area and an initial round of individual meetings, a group gathering was organised with different stakeholders including cheesemakers, mountain farmers, shepherds, sociologists, scientists, activists and tourism experts, among others. In it, different methodologies of temporal and spatial exploration experimented with the participants’ current and future hopes, risks and motivations for their activities within the territory.

The result can now be viewed in the latest exhibition at Civic Museum of Bolzano: ALMA presents fictitious future scenarios in a film accompanied by interviews with key local stakeholders and a number of select elements which are portrayed in pottery pieces that work as a crafted storyboard. In a series of performative lunches, the characters and garments from the film are introduced alongside food and poetry, encouraging the participants to ponder and expand the politics and intricacies of the landscape-related questions that ALMA raises.

INLAND will be at the Festival ‘Hier und Da’ in Malles, on Sunday 25.03.18 from 10am to 2pm, as part of the Workshop “Opening the countryside!” in collaboration with Alastair Fuad-Luke (University Bolzano): After an introduction to Open Source farming in the first part, the artist and agroecologist Fernando García-Dory will hold the second part of the workshop and show the film ALMA (25 min). The Workshop The valley of forking paths is a presentation about INLAND previous works on relations between human species and territories looking at models of development, knowledge, behaviour, culture and social change. In the framework of ‘hier und da – Good Life in the Rural’ Fernando García-Dory, founder of INLAND talks about ALMA, realised in collaboration with BAU, a project which took South Tyrol as case study during 2017. An opportunity to exchange on methodologies and outcomes from this process based in speculative models for future territorial tendencies. The film ALMA offers speculative, fictitious scenarios, landscape projections and wants to open a debate about the future of South Tyrol.

Quale sarà l’aspetto dell’Alto Adige e dei suoi paesaggi nel 2047?
Per questa nuova produzione, INLAND sviluppa un formato di ricerca e interventi pubblici per aprire un dibattito sul futuro dell’ Alto Adige e visualizzare diverse proiezioni del suo paesaggio. In una prima fase, dopo aver esplorato la regione e aver condotto le prime conversazioni individuali con differenti operatori locali, è stato organizzato un incontro di gruppo con gli stessi, quali casari, contadini di montagna, pastori, sociologi, scienziati, attivisti e esperti del turismo. Durante questo work-shop sono state adottate diverse metodologie di esplorazione del tempo e dello spazio basandosi sulle speranze legate al presente e al futuro del territorio e sui rischi e sulle motivazioni relative a ciascuna attività.

Il risultato è la presente istallazione che riecheggiando, cambia la storia e l’eredità degli artefatti presenti nel museo e negli archivi. Scenari futuri fittizi e interviste svolte sul campo a operatori locali sono presentati insieme nel film ALMA. Ulteriori elementi sono presenti nello spazio sotto forma di ceramiche che fungono da storyboard. Una serie di pranzi performativi introdurranno personaggi e costumi, gastronomia e poesia, invitando i partecipanti a riflettere sulle questioni relative al paessaggio che ALMA pone.

INLAND parteciperà al Festival ‘Hier und Da’ a Malles, domenica 25 marzo dalle ore 10 alle 14, come parte del Workshop “Opening the countryside!” in collaborazione con Alastair Fuad-Luke (Libera Università di Bolzano).
Dopo la prima parte condotta da Fuad-Luke, che si concentra sull’Open Source Farming, la seconda parte del workshop avrà come protagonista l’artista e agroecologo Fernando García-Dory. Inoltre sarà proiettato ALMA, un film che è stato realizzato durante la residenza di INLAND nel 2017. Durante il Workshop The valley of forking paths Fernando García-Dory parlerà di alcuni suoi lavori artistici passati sull’ interrelazione tra uomo e il territorio tenendo in considerazione modelli di cambiamento sociale e culturale. Attraverso la visione del film ALMA, realizzato durante la residenza di INLAND con BAU durante il 2017, possibili scenari futuri del passaggio del Alto Adige saranno discussi.
