Für die neunte Ausgabe der Workshop-Serie savoir-vivre lädt BAU die Paläontologin Evelyn Kustatscher ein, einen Fossilien-Workshop in den Ausstellungsräumen der ar/ge kunst abzuhalten. Im Sinne von unpacking knowledges erforschen die Teilnehmer*innen im Tun die Entstehung und Ausgrabung von Körper- und Spuren Fossilien. Welche fiktiven Geschichten können daraus gelesen werden und wie können sie uns helfen die Gegenwart zu verstehen und auf viele mögliche Zukünfte hinweisen? Was wenn wir uns von der neutralen historischen Faktizität wegbewegen und das gehütete Wissen als Instrument betrachten, um auf politische und transformative Weise auf die Gegenwart einzuwirken und die Zukunft neu zu denken?
Evelyn Kustatscher, geboren 1976 in Brixen, hat nach dem Studium der Naturwissenschaften an der Universität Ferrara und Parma ihr Forschungsdoktorat abgeschlossen. Heute ist sie als Paläontologin am Naturmuseum in Bozen und Privatdozentin an der Ludwig Maximillian Universität München tätig. Ihre Leidenschaft gilt fossilen Pflanzen, die meist hunderte Millionen Jahre alt sind.

For this ninth edition in the savoir-vivre workshop series, BAU has invited palaeontologist Evelyn Kustatscher to run a fossil workshop in the exhibition spaces at ar/ge kunst. In an active unpacking of knowledges, participants will investigate the formation and excavation of body fossils and trace fossils. What fictive histories can we read into them, how can they help us understand the present, what possible futures do they indicate? What happens when we move away from neutral historical facticity and start to regard hidden knowledge as an instrument for influencing the present and rethinking the future in politically transformative ways?
Evelyn Kustatscher, born in Brixen in 1976, completed her research doctorate having studied natural sciences at the University of Ferrara and Parma. She now works as a palaeontologist at the museum of natural history in Bolzano and as a senior lecturer at the Ludwig Maximillian University in Munich. Her passion is for plant fossils, most of which are hundreds of millions of years old.

Per la nona edizione di savoir-vivre, BAU invita la paleontologa Evelyn Kustatscher a tenere un workshop sui fossili presso gli spazi di ar/ge kunst. Seguendo unpacking knowledges, i partecipanti esplorano la formazione e lo scavo di piante e tracce fossili. Quali storie fittizie possono essere lette da questi oggetti e come possono aiutarci a capire il presente e indicare molteplici possibili futuri? E se ci allontanassimo dalla fatticità storica neutrale e considerassimo questo sapere come strumento per influenzare il presente in modi politici e trasformativi e ripensare il futuro?
Evelyn Kustatscher, nata a Bressanone nel 1976, ha completato il dottorato di ricerca dopo aver studiato scienze naturali presso le Università di Ferrara e Parma. Oggi lavora come paleontologa presso il Museo di Storia Naturale a Bolzano e come docente privato alla Ludwig Maximilian Universität di Monaco. La sua passione sono le piante fossili, la maggior parte delle quali hanno centinaia di milioni di anni.
