Forscher
Manuel Pramsholer ist seit 2015 wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Versuchszentrum Laimburg und Leiter der Arbeitsgruppe Acker und Kräuteranbau, wo er angewandte Forschung zu verschiedenen Themen der Südtiroler Berglandwirtschaft betreibt.
Zu den Projekten gehören: die systematische Sammlung autochthoner Getreidesorten und deren Ex-situ-Erhaltung (Genbank), phänotypische und agronomische Charakterisierung, die Erforschung neuer Verwendungsmöglichkeiten (regionale Produkte) sowie der Aufbau eines Netzwerks zur Unterstützung lokaler Kreisläufe im Getreidesektor.
Im Jahr 2024 war Manuel in der Recherche der Künstlerin Grace Gloria Denis für die BAU Residency ein wichtiger Dialogpartner. Während ihres Aufenthalts untersuchte Grace Brot als Impulsgeber, um in Verbindung mit nicht-menschlichen Akteuren zu treten und arbeitete mit Bäckern und Wissenschaftlern aus Südtirol zusammen, um den Binkel, auch Triticum compactum genanntzu erforschen. Mit Manuels Hilfe verfolgte sie die Wiedereinführung des Binkels nach und definierte Brot als kulturelles Artefakt und Ort ökologischen Diskurses.
Researcher
Manuel Pramsholer is researcher at the Laimburg Research Center since 2015 and heads the Arable Crops and Aromatic Plants working group, conducting applied research on various topics related to agriculture in the South Tyrolean mountains.
Projects include: systematic collection of native cereal varieties and ex situ conservation (gene bank), phenotypic and agronomic characterization, research into new uses (regional products), and the creation of a network to support local supply chains in the cereal sector.
In 2024, Manuel was involved in artist Grace Gloria Denis’s research for the BAU Residency. During her residency, Grace explored bread as a means of connecting with non-human agents, collaborating with South Tyrolean bakers and scientists to study Binkel wheat, or Triticum compactum. With Manuel’s help, she traced the reintroduction of Binkel, defining bread as a cultural artifact and a site of ecological discourse.

Ricercatore
Manuel Pramsholer è dal 2015 ricercatore presso il Centro di sperimentazione Laimburg e responsabile del gruppo di lavoro Colture arabili e piante aromatiche, conducendo ricerche applicate su diverse tematiche dell’agricoltura della montagna altoatesina.
I progetti includono: raccolta sistematica di varietà autoctone di cereali e conservazione ex situ (banca genetica), caratterizzazione fenotipica e agronomica, ricerca di nuove possibilità di utilizzo (prodotti regionali), creazione di una rete a sostegno dei circuiti locali nel settore cerealicolo.
Nel 2024, Manuel è stato coinvolto nella ricerca dell’artista Grace Gloria Denis per la BAU Residency. Durante la sua residenza, Grace ha esplorato il pane come mezzo di collegamento con agenti non umani, collaborando con panettieri e scienziati dell’Alto Adige per studiare il grano Binkel, o triticum compactum. Grazie all’aiuto di Manuel ha ripercorso la reintroduzione del Binkel definendo il pane come un artefatto culturale e un luogo di discorso ecologico.
