Künstler
Angelo Plessas (1974, GR) ist ein Künstler und lebt in Athen. Seine künstlerische Praxis basiert auf einer Erforschung der Weiten des Internets. Häufig schafft er interaktive Webseiten durch die Verwendung einer besonderen Symbolik, die er sich auch in seinen Mixed-Media-Installationen zunutze macht. Seit 2012 organisiert er die Eternal Internet Brother/Sisterhood – ein jährliches Treffen mit Internet-Freunden an entlegenen Orten. Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen, u.a.: PAC, Mailand (2015), der Frieze Projects London (2013), National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athen (2011), Valencia Biennale (2005).
Auf Einladung von BAU realisierte Angelo Plessas die permanente Installation Extropic Optimisms 2 im Rahmen von Art & Nature 2016.

He often creates interactive websites by making use of a particular symbology he also exploits by his mixed-media installations. Since 2012 he organises the Eternal Internet Brother/Sisterhood, a gathering with internet friends in remote locations. His works were shown in solo and group exhibitions including PAC, Milano (2015); Frieze Projects, London (2013); National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens (2011); and Valencia Biennial (2005).
BAU invited Angelo Plessas to realise the permanent installation Extropic Optimisms 2 in the context of Art & Nature 2016.

Crea spesso siti web interattivi usando simbologie particolari che compaiono anche nelle sue installazioni a tecniche miste. Risale al 2012 la prima organizzazione di Eternal Internet Brother/Sisterhood, un incontro collettivo a cadenza pluriennale che avvicina diversi amici della rete nei luoghi più remoti. Plessas ha realizzato mostre personali e collettive, tra cui al PAC, Milano (2015), Frieze Projects, Londra (2013), National Museum of Contemporary Art, Atene (2011) e alla Biennale di Valencia (2005).
Su invito di BAU Angelo Plessas ha realizzato l’istallazione permanente Extropic Optimisms 2 nel contesto di Art & Nature 2016.
