Barbara Gamper (*1981, UK/I) ist eine interdisziplinare Künstlerin, deren Praxis die Bereiche Bewegung, Somatik, Performance, bewegte Bilder und Textilien umfasst. Das physische Selbst, eingebettet in ein Archiv von persönlichen Erfahrungen, die in systemischen Machtdynamiken wurzeln, spielt eine zentrale Rolle in ihrer Forschung und künstlerischen Arbeit. Teil ihrer alltäglichen Arbeit sind somatische Erkundungen, die systemische Muster hinterfragen, die Menschen im Zuge von Sozialisation verinnerlichen, um den Körper als poröse und flüssige Form – die nicht an der Haut endet – zu erfahren und seine Erfahrung in der Vernetzung mit anderen (menschlichen und nicht-menschlichen) Körperlichkeit und Ökologien zu erweitern. Sie absolviert gegenwärtig ein dreijähriges Studium der somatischen Pädagogik an der Somatischen Akademie in Berlin. Sie studierte zeitgenössischen Tanz in Berlin und lebt seit 2006 in London, wo sie an zahlreichen künstlerischen Projekten (Tanztheater-global, SDNA, Südelectronic) im Bereich Performance, Video und Musik beteiligt war. Gruppenausstellungen und Festivals, u.a.: Shunt, The Place (London), OPA On Performance Art@ Bios (Athen), Whitstable Biennale.

Im Rahmen von Welcome Bees! lädt Barbara Gamper zum Performance Workshop Rock Star Bees für Kinder 6+ ein.

Im Rahmen von Caldera wird sie einen Bewegungsworkshop durchführen.

Artist

Barbara Gamper (*1981, UK/I) is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice expands from movement, somatics, performance, moving image and textiles. The physical self, embedded in an archive of personal experiences rooted in systemic power dynamics, plays a central role in her research and artistic practice. Part of her everyday work involves somatic explorations, which challenge systemic patterns humans internalise from socialisation, in order to experience the body as a porous and fluid form—not ending at the skin—and to expand its experience in interconnection with other (human and non-human) materialities and ecologies.
She is currently studying on a three-year programme in somatic pedagogy at the SomaticAcademy in Berlin.
She previously studied contemporary dance in Berlin and lives in London where she was involved in numerous artistic projects (dance theatre globally, ssDNA, Südelectronic) in the field of performance, video and music since 2006. Group exhibitions and festivals, a.o.: Shunt, The Place (London), OPA On Performance Art @ Bios (Athens), Whitstable Biennale.

In the context of Welcome Bees! Barbara Gamper holds the Performance Workshop Rock Star Bees for kids 6+. 

In the context of Caldera, she will hold a movement workshop.
