Ingrid Hora (*1976, Bozen) wohnt und arbeitet in Berlin. In ihrer multidisziplinären künstlerischen Produktion, die von performativen Aktionen, Installationen, Zeichnungen bis zu Video und öffentlichen Interventionen reicht, inszeniert Hora Experimente, die sozio-politische Bedingungen hinterfragen, Kollektivität herausfordern und untersuchen, wie demokratische Prozesse entstehen. Sie hat an der Architectural Association, der Pasedena Art School, der Freien Universität Bozen, der Udk Berlin und der London Met unterrichtet. Ihre Arbeit wurde international ausgestellt, unter anderem in folgenden Institutionen: MUSEION, Bozen (2022); Biennale Gherdëina (2020); Museo Civico di Castelbuono (2018); Museum für angewandte Kunst, Wien (2014); Kunsthalle Düsseldorf (2011). 2003 erhielt Hora den Adolf-Loos-Staatspreis und 2018 den Paul-Flora-Preis. Die künstlerische Praxis von Hora ist ortsspezifisch, was sich auf Raum, Ort und Menschen bezieht. Im Auftrag der Obstgenossenschaft Juval hat Hora die permanente Kunstinstallation Auf die Plätze. Fertig. Los! (2019) realisiert.
Ingrid Hora nahm an der Ausstellung Unteroberwasser (20. Juli – 31. August 2025), kuratiert von Simone Mair und Lisa Mazza (BAU), im Rahmen des Projekts Kunst in der Kartause in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kulturverein Schnals. Im Rahmen des öffentlichen Programms der Ausstellung leitete Ingrid Hora den Workshop Wie fängt man eine Wolke? (Come catturare una nuvola? / Come catturare una nuvola?). Vom 28. Juli bis zum 1. August 2025 setzte sich eine Gruppe von fünfzehn Kindern im Alter von 6 bis 10 Jahren mit drängenden ökologischen Fragestellungen auseinander, insbesondere mit der Wasserknappheit auf globaler und lokaler Ebene. Inspiriert vom Drachenbaum, einer Pflanze, die Trockenheit übersteht, indem sie Feuchtigkeit aus den Wolken aufnimmt, experimentierten die Teilnehmer*innen mit kreativen Möglichkeiten, sich Wasser vorzustellen und es symbolisch „einzufangen“. Durch Techniken wie Marmorieren, Sticken und Solar-Druck entstanden neue Erzählungen über Wolken sowie ein kollektives Textil, das Teil des in der Ausstellung gezeigten Kunstwerks von Ingrid Hora wurde. Der Workshop fand innerhalb der ortsspezifischen Installation In the Body of a Fish Out of Water – A FISH CLASSROOMvon Eva Kotátková statt – einem Lernraum, in dem aktives Denken und ökologisches Bewusstsein gemeinsam wachsen können.

Ingrid Hora (*1976, Bolzano) lives and works as an artist in Berlin. Through her multidisciplinary artistic production, ranging from performative action, installation, drawing to video and public interventions Hora stages experiments that question socio-political conditions, challenge collectivity and investigate how democratic processes come into being. She has taught at the Architectural Association, Pasedena Art School, Freie Universität Bozen, Udk Berlin and London Met. Her work has been widely exhibited internationally, including the following institutions: MUSEION, Bolzano (2022); Biennale Gherdëina (2020); Museo Civico di Castelbuono (2018); Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna (2014); Kunsthalle Düsseldorf (2011). In 2003, Hora received the Adolf Loos State Prize and, in 2018, the Paul Flora Prize. Hora’s artistic practice is site-specific, engaging with space, place, and people.
Commissioned by Juval Fruit Cooperative, the artist Ingrid Hora realised the installation Ready, Steady, Go! (2019), curated by BAU Agency, for the sorting room at the Juval Fruit Cooperative.
Ingrid Hora took part in the exhibition Unteroberwasser (20 July – 31 August 2025), curated by Simone Mair and Lisa Mazza (BAU), within the framework of the Kunst in der Kartause project in collaboration with Kulturverein Schnals. As part of the exhibition’s public program, Ingrid Hora led the workshop Wie fängt man eine Wolke? (How to Catch a Cloud?). From July 28 to August 1, 2025, a group of fifteen children aged 6 to 10 explored pressing ecological issues, focusing in particular on water scarcity at both global and local levels. Inspired by the dragon tree — a plant that survives drought by drawing water from clouds — the participants experimented with creative ways of imagining and “capturing” water. Using techniques such as marbling, embroidery, and solar printing, they created new narratives about clouds and produced a collective textile work that became an integral part of Ingrid Hora’s artwork presented in the exhibition. The workshop took place within Eva Kotátková’s site-specific installation In the Body of a Fish Out of Water – A FISH CLASSROOM, a learning space where active thinking and ecological awareness grow side by side.

Il suo lavoro è stato esposto internazionalmente, tra le altre istituzioni: MUSEION, Bolzano (2022), Biennale Gherdëina (2020), Museo Civico di Castelbuono (2018), Museo di Arti Applicate, Vienna (2014) e Kunsthalle, Düsseldorf (2011). Nel 2003 Hora ha ricevuto il Premio di Stato Adolf Loos e nel 2018 il Premio Paul-Flora. La pratica artistica di Hora è site specific, si riferisce sia allo spazio, sia al luogo e alle persone. Con BAU Agency e per conto della cooperativa frutticoltori Juval, Hora ha creato l’installazione artistica permanente Ready, Steady, Go! (2019), collocata nella sala di smistamento.
Ingrid Hora ha partecipato alla mostra Unteroberwasser (20 luglio – 31 agosto 2025), a cura di Simone Mair e Lisa Mazza (BAU), nell’ambito del progetto Kunst in der Kartause, in collaborazione con il Kulturverein Schnals. Come parte del programma pubblico della mostra, Ingrid Hora ha condotto il workshop Wie fängt man eine Wolke? (Come catturare una nuvola?). Dal 28 luglio al 1° agosto 2025, un gruppo di quindici bambini e bambine tra i 6 e i 10 anni ha esplorato temi ecologici urgenti, concentrandosi in particolare sulla scarsità d’acqua a livello globale e locale. Ispirandosi all’albero del drago, una pianta capace di sopravvivere alla siccità estraendo l’umidità dalle nuvole, i/le partecipanti hanno sperimentato modi creativi per immaginare e “catturare” l’acqua. Attraverso tecniche come la marmorizzazione, il ricamo e la stampa solare, hanno dato vita a nuove narrazioni sulle nuvole e realizzato un tessuto collettivo, divenuto parte integrante dell’opera di Ingrid Hora esposta in mostra. Il workshop si è svolto all’interno dell’installazione site-specific di Eva Kotátková, In the Body of a Fish Out of Water – A FISH CLASSROOM, uno spazio di apprendimento per il pensiero attivo e la consapevolezza ecologica.
